Color is a very personal thing, and can affect the way you think, act and feel. Selecting the right color of something can sometimes be difficult (and scary) – especially when it comes to the exterior of your home. You want to choose something that reflects your personality, adds value, and doesn’t offend the neighbors, but with so many colors and exterior options to choose from, it can seem like an overwhelming task to choose the right ones. MyBuild to the rescue!
MyBuild is our new exterior visualizer tool that allows you to customize the exterior of any Veridian home before you build it. Pick your favorite home plan, select a siding color, pair it with a complimentary trim color, and then make it stand out with stone or brick accents. It’s easy, and a great way to get ideas and inspiration for your new home.
So where do you begin? Here’s a few things to think about when choosing your home’s exterior: Exterior colors change and can look different throughout the day depending on how the light hits them. Generally speaking, lighter colors can make your home appear larger, brighter colors can make it stand out, while darker shades can make your home appear smaller and help it blend with the surroundings. Try building your color palette around features of the home that probably won’t change (roofing, stone/brick). Contrasting, but complementary colors can always be added in for dimension or to highlight structural elements.
The ability to personalize the exterior of your home before you build can save you a lot of time and money, plus it’s fun! Visit the home plan page of our website today to select your favorite home plan. From there, click on the “Visualize My Dream Home” button, choose the style of home you want and let your imagination get to work!
