Construction and design have always been a part of my life. Growing up, my dad was regularly building and remodeling. He built both of the homes that I grew up in and remodeled our family cabin (a couple of times). I watched, learned, and my interest grew. That’s why it should come as no surprise that I bought my first book of home plans from a used book store when I was just out of high school. I spent time each day going through that book, marking the plans I liked with brightly colored post-it notes. I guess you could say I have been passionate about home plans and interior design ever since.
After pursing a degree in Marketing and working in the insurance world for many years, I was more than ready to come back to what I love. To say I’m excited to be part of the Marketing team at Veridian Homes would be an understatement. It’s not every day a person gets to combine their education and passion into their profession.
From a design perspective, I am drawn to clean lines, open spaces with lots of light, and different textures. Black, white and wood is my favorite color combination, however, I do appreciate the occasional deep green or navy blue cabinet with brass hardware.
Outside of work you will find me on the sidelines cheering for my kids in whatever sport they are playing, enjoying the outdoors, or paging through home décor magazines for inspiration on what my next project should be.
I believe that our homes are an expression of ourselves. A place where personalities are explored and stories are created through the colors and styles we choose. I look forward to bringing you creative and useful content as inspiration for your story. Enjoy!
